High quality training. Low quality company

L3 Harris has fantastic facilities and training staff, which will prepare you  for your career at an airline. The fleet of aircraft and training locations (as of 2018/2019) were good, with particular credit to the flight training team in New Zealand.

Unfortunately, L3 Harris is a large American company, with no due regard for any cadet in their system. There is no personal care for cadets from management upwards (although local team and instructor support is outstanding).

You will be messed around by scheduling in your training, and will not have a clear timeline of your training at L3 Harris. This will be further exacerbated if they go ahead with the closure of their NZ training centre. Experience from the closure of their Pheonix centre shows they are over subscribed and unable to facilitate flight training for the number of cadets they already have… Let alone the large number of courses they pump into the academy each year.

I feel there are few schools which will offer the quality of training, but many schools that are able to offer better value for money and personal support to cadets.
